PAS offers a collection of editorial and manuscript submission guidelines from its publishing house members. This handy reference is available for sale to prospective authors, librarians, and other interested parties at $20 each for a PDF copy. Send a check to the PAS office along with a note stating that you want a PDF copy of the manuscript guidelines e-mailed to you. Be sure to include your e-mail address! The PDF will be e-mailed to you.

NOTE: A hard (printed) copy is also available for $35.00, including postage. Send a letter with a check for $35.00 to the PAS office. A copy will be mailed to you via the US Postal Service.

NEWSLETTER

The PAS Newsletter is published 2 times a year with news, articles, advertisements, and calendars of interest to book publishers in the region.

Advertising and Editorial Office

Published twice a year to coincide with the two publishing seasons. Deadline: December 1st for Spring, June 15th for Fall.

Distribution

The PAS Newsletter is distributed free of charge to all PAS members, including Southern publishers and associated firms, Southern publishers who might be prospective members of PAS, and a collection of Southern bookstores, libraries, media contacts, and individuals who have an interest in or connection with PAS (i.e. former speakers at seminars and individual members). The majority of the copies of the PAS Newsletter are distributed by U.S. Mail.

Format

The PAS Newsletter is printed on a sheet-fed offset press. The finished format is 8½ inches by 11 inches. There may be one, two, or three columns per page. The newsletter normally totals 32 pages.

Mechanical Requirements

All advertising will be black and white.
1) One format is FILM.
2) PDF files for all electronic submission of ads (Allegra Printing, http://www.allegranetwork.com/Main/01_Default.aspx?SID=01-i0263&PID=00-00). On Allegra's Web site, click the File Transfer link.
3) JPG or TIFF for photos.

There will be no discounts for any reason.
NOTE: These costs are DOUBLED for non-PAS members.

Copy and Contract Regulations

1. A check for the amount of the ad must accompany the ad.
   
2. All ads must be film, or in PDF files.
   
3. PAS reserves the right to reject any advertisement at its sole discretion without comment.
   
4. PAS's liability for any error will not exceed the cost of the ad space.
   
5. Position of the ads is at the discretion of PAS.
   
6. PAS assumes no liability for advertisements not run for any reason and will issue a prompt refund to advertiser.
   
7. All verbal communication that is important to the advertiser regarding ads must be confirmed in writing by the advertiser.
   
8. All ads must be submitted at least thirty (30) days prior to publication of the Newsletter.

Newsletter Deadlines

December 1st for Spring, June 1st for Fall. Members of PAS get a reminder either via fax or e-mail regarding publishing deadlines.

DIRECTORY

The annual Directory of Southern Publishers contains detailed address, phone, and personnel listings of our house, associate, and individual members. (Advertising costs vary from issue to issue.) Copies can be purchased for $10.00 each. Send a check and a note that you want to order a copy of the PAS Directory to the PAS office. A copy will be mailed to you via the US Postal Service.
