PAS Winter Conclave
Our PAS Winter Conclave is three days of seminars and socializing each winter in settings such as New Orleans, Asheville, Savannah, and Charleston. Experts from within and outside the region speak in informal settings on topics such as copyright law, design and production, publicity and promotion, subsidiary rights, multimedia, and more.
PAS Annual Conference
Similar topics are explored each fall, on the Thursday preceding the Southeast Booksellers Association trade show, at a PAS-sponsored half-day seminar. PAS also sponsors a vendor trade show at which printers, bar code systems, binderies, paper houses, and other suppliers exhibit samples and meet with publishers. Each year, the Annual Conference grows in scope and focus.
Award: The Robin Mays Award, named in honor of the legendary Publishers Weekly representative who was a co-founder of PAS, is given annually to an individual who has made a substantial contribution to book publishing in the region. Past winners include Robin Mays, Bronson Ingram, Louis Rubin, John Baker, Phyllis Tickle, Nancy & Milburn Calhoun, Betty Wright, Nancy Pate, Bob Summer, and Carolyn Sakowski.
